Lambchop is a Band

"If you haven't heard of them, you probably aren't from Nashville or France." So it says with a pinch of irony on the Lambchop fan page lambchop.net. A sentence that has not been true for Germany for a long time, at least since Karl Bruckmeyer in the Süddeutsche Zeitung chose the album "Is A Woman" (2002) as one of the ten best of all time.

"They sound better than they ever have," Kurt Wagner says simply towards the beginning of the documentary about his band. And with that he actually says something strange: that Lambchop, whose lineup has always been in flux, have always been one and the same band for him. "Lambchop Is A Band" is the logical title of this documentary excursion into the group's world of thought. Kurt Wagner cruises through his home port of Nashville with the deliberation of an old sailor and tells what has changed since he laid wood floors here with his first colleagues in the '80s and '90s to make a living besides the band.
